Lwanga Nasser | Founder & CEO
Lwanga Nasser is a dedicated social entrepreneur and communications expert with over a decade of experience in the NGO sector. Since 2014, Nasser has specialized in faith-based community development, eventually founding the Aakifah Foundation in 2021 to drive systemic change across Uganda.
With a degree in Mass Communication, Nasser bridges the gap between grassroots activism and strategic outreach. He is known for a "boots-on-the-ground" leadership style, personally overseeing the implementation of projects in districts ranging from Mayuge to Kampala. His work is defined by a commitment to moving beyond traditional charity toward sustainable growth and long-term opportunity for marginalized communities.
Ssebuliba Sadala | C.O.O & Projects Manager
Ssebuliba Sadala is a versatile leader at the Aakifah Foundation, where he oversees both financial stewardship and project execution. With a degree in Public Administration, Ssebuliba leverages a deep understanding of organizational management and governance to drive the foundation’s initiatives forward.
His professional background is uniquely diverse, combining the operational precision of retail management with the technical rigor of construction project management. This multifaceted experience allows him to optimize resources and ensure that every foundation project is executed with maximum efficiency. Driven by an unwavering passion for humanitarian work, Ssebuliba applies a strategic, hands-on approach to ensure the foundation delivers excellence to the communities it serves.

Nambalirwa Rashida | Regional Coordinator & Executive Member Nambalirwa Rashida is a key member of our leadership team, bringing a rich, multicultural perspective to her role as Regional Coordinator. With a background in culinary arts and a deep passion for regional travel, Rashida excels at navigating the diverse social and cultural landscapes of East Africa and beyond.
Her extensive travels from the vibrant streets of Kampala and Nairobi to the cultural centers of Riyadh allow her to build authentic connections with the communities we serve. By bridging her professional duties with her personal talent for cross-cultural communication, Rashida ensures that the Aakifah Foundation's outreach is both culturally sensitive and highly effective.
Kavunani Tamisi | Education Coordinator & Executive Member Kavunani Tamisi is the driving force behind the Aakifah Foundation’s educational initiatives. Currently pursuing a Degree in Education, Kavunani blends her academic training with a profound passion for community empowerment. She believes that quality education is the ultimate tool for transforming lives and is dedicated to making learning accessible to all, regardless of their background.
Her role involves developing innovative teaching methods and building strategic partnerships to enhance the learning experience for students and families. As a beacon of hope within the organization, Kavunani ensures that the foundation’s mission of fostering lifelong growth is realized through every classroom and community program we support.
Kyomugisha Aisha | Campaigns Coordinator & Executive Member Kyomugisha Aisha is the creative visionary behind the Aakifah Foundation’s public identity. With a degree in Fashion and Design, Aisha brings a sophisticated eye for aesthetics and trend analysis to her role as Campaigns Coordinator. Her background allows her to craft visually stunning and emotionally resonant campaigns that elevate the foundation’s outreach.
In addition to her design expertise, Aisha is a seasoned professional in the film industry, notably recognized for her role in the hit Ugandan series "Sanyu." She leverages this experience in storytelling and narrative development to highlight the foundation’s mission, turning our impact stories into compelling calls to action that inspire global engagement.
Nansereko Atika | Social Media Handler & Executive Member Nansereko Atika is the digital voice of the Aakifah Foundation. Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Studies, Atika seamlessly blends technical proficiency with a creative passion for digital marketing. She is responsible for bridging the gap between our grassroots work in Uganda and a global audience, ensuring our mission is shared with clarity and impact.
Atika’s expertise lies in her ability to analyze digital trends and audience behavior to craft data-driven social media strategies. By sharing the inspiring stories of our beneficiaries, she fosters a vibrant online community of supporters and volunteers. Her visionary approach to digital storytelling ensures that the Aakifah Foundation remains at the forefront of modern humanitarian advocacy.


SSEMAKULA HAMIM| Education Director
Hamim serves as the Education Outreach Director at Aakifah Foundation, where he plays a vital role in advancing educational and faith-based community initiatives. Having completed the Holy Quran at the remarkable age of 14, Hamim has demonstrated strong dedication to Islamic education, discipline, and youth development from an early age.
His passion for learning and community engagement allows him to connect effectively with young people and families, helping promote educational awareness, Islamic values, and outreach programs across the communities served by the foundation. Through his leadership, Hamim continues to inspire youth participation in education, personal growth, and community service.
